Competition heats up the “phablet” market as Samsung launches Note 3 with the wearable Galaxy Gear

Korean giant Samsung consolidated its position at the top of the pile by launching a mobile experience that is aimed at making life simpler for the busy professional. Along with the phablet comes the Galaxy Gear wearable device, the first wearable tech device from Samsung which works only with the phone. With enhanced S Pen features and a larger screen optimised for multi tasking, the Note 3 directly competes with Apple’s IPhone 5.

The Galaxy Note is well equipped for multi-tasking where the user can work on multiple frames at once. The S Pen Stylus introduces users to Air Command which includes five powerful features to make life simple for the busy executive but the show stealer is undoubtedly the smart companion Galaxy Gear. The smart watch is a new concept device that can be worn by the user to extend the Galaxy Note experience. When an incoming message requires more than a quick glance, users can simply pick up their Samsung GALAXY devices and the Smart Relay feature will instantly reveal the full content on the screen. Together, GALAXY Note 3 and GALAXY Gear extend Samsung’s efforts to provide users with the opportunity to design their lives, to express their passions and to make everyday life more easy and enjoyable.

The GALAXY Note 3 will come pre-loaded with support for 11 regional Indian languages. The phablet is priced at Rs 49,900/- while the Gear is priced at Rs. 22,990/-. As part of its introductory offer, all Samsung Note 3 customers who are using Vodafone 2G services will get 2GB Internet per month free for two months on Vodafone 3G/EDGE/2GNetworks.
